THE ARTIST
In the 60’s I discovered a gift for sewing, when I received my first sewing
machine. I have been been making fiber art since 1985, when I made my first
60 potholders and realized I could have made a bed quilt.
I took a lot of classes in every aspect of fine craft and art that was
available while I worked at Ingalls Fine Craft and Art in the late ‘80’s and
early 90’s. I then began selling at craft fairs around the area.
Potholders, crib quilts and placemats were my main form of expression, but
I have since learned how to weave tapestries, make handmade books, needle
books, prayer flags, window quilts, wall hangings and dream catchers…
whatever took my fancy.
I have continued doing my own thing in a free-form, intuitive way of
designing and making, following my heart and hands into whatever materials,
methods and stitching I can use to express my creativity.
